Braintree officials have put forward a plan to comply with the MBTA Communities housing law, giving themselves mere weeks to receive feedback on the proposal and approve the measure before a state deadline.
The plan, made public earlier this month, includes rezoning three areas near Braintree’s only T station as well as a fourth close to a commuter rail station near the Weymouth border to allow for more multifamily housing. The city’s planning board will consider the proposal at a meeting Tuesday evening. The city council must also review the plan. (Braintree calls itself a town but has a city form of government.)
