A Los Angeles-based real estate firm has proposed converting a six-story South End office building into 91 apartments, in part by making the building bigger.
CIM Group is seeking a tax break from the city for the proposed conversion of 95 Berkeley St., a 107,100-square-foot, largely vacant building just across I-90 from Back Bay and a few blocks from the Back Bay MBTA station.
