Construction will start this year on the next two buildings in the long-unfolding Suffolk Downs redevelopment: a 473-unit residential building and a 150-room hotel.
Both of those buildings will go up near the project’s first building just outside the MBTA Blue Line’s Beachmont station. The 475-unit Amaya building opened last summer.
Developer HYM Investment Group is moving ahead despite headwinds that have stalled many other similar multistage projects in the Boston area, including rising interest rates, declining demand for office space and uncertainty surrounding tariffs and other federal policies.
