The Beantown Cos. filed plans with the Boston Planning Department to add 47 units to the property at 1444-1446 Dorchester Ave.The developer plans to renovate the historic Clap-Field House, constructed in the late 1700s and later converted into a storage facility, and turn it into two multifamily units. It also plans to construct an adjacent five-story building with 45 units, nine of which would be affordable. In July, The Beantown Cos. CEO Marc Resnick purchased the property in the Fields Corner neighborhood for $5.6M, according to public records. The buyer was reportedly chosen from a larger pool because it planned to keep the integrity of the existing building.
