A South Boston developer has proposed replacing a run-down three-story former warehouse and an adjacent garage with a seven-story, 44-unit condo building with 8 units built as live/work spaces for artists and a gallery and workshop at 52 Plympton St. in the South End.
The artist units, all one-bedrooms on the first floor, will be sold as affordable, to people making no more than 80% to 100% of the Boston area median income. The remaining units, which will range from studios up to three-bedroom units, will be sold at market rates.
